About Me

Teaching Creative Writing is the best job I've ever had. I love working with students and watching them grow as writers and as human beings. I also love writing about teaching creative writing.

I teach creative writing to undergraduates and adult learners new to writing. I've taught at small liberal arts colleges, community colleges, state universities and book festivals. I hold an MFA from the Bennington Writing Seminars. In 2009, my debut novel When Love Was Clean Underwear was published. Ann Hood selected it as the winner of the Many Voices Project Award.
